The Punu ancestral mask is from Cameroon, Central Africa. The Punu Mask typically consists of a female face with two sided braids which is a hairstyle used by women in Cameroon. It is also common for the mask to have a pointed nose, protruding lips, arched eyebrows, narrow eyes and closed mouth. Sometimes the mask is used as a ritual function. During these rituals masqueraders dance, they embody the spirits of male and female ancestors.
